Mario Tougas

Mario Tougas has over 30 years of experience in the Quebec manufacturing industry.
A passionate business manager, he began his career in the field of printed circuits (Circo Craft / Via Système) mainly for the mobile telephony (Motorola) as well as the automotive (Chrysler and GM) markets. He held the positions of Director of Engineering to Director of Operations for the Montreal sites. He later joined the Venmar Ventilation team as Vice President of Operations where he acquired a solid experience in product development as well as LEAN manufacturing at a young age, all in a very entrepreneurial culture. He then held the position of President of VKI technology, a subsidiary of the Van Houtte group and manufacturer of Keurig coffee makers for 6 years. He returned to Venmar who became Venmar Broan NuTone Canada, North American leader in the field of residential ventilation, as Senior Vice President and President until April 2015.

Mario is currently associated with the Quebec Manufacturers Fund. The Quebec Manufacturing Fund is a capital investment fund whose mission is to optimize the growth potential of businesses in the manufacturing sector in Quebec.

An engineer by training, Mario is passionate about innovation not only at the product level but also in all of the company’s business processes. Competitive by nature, he is strongly stimulated in a results-oriented environment where growth is essential.

Mario served on the board of directors of the Institut de développement de produits du Québec. He is currently on the boards of directors of e2ip technology, Gelpac inc. as well as on the ISE Métal and Cuisine Idéale advisory committee. Mario is a director of certified companies (ASC) having completed his certificate in corporate governance from the Laval University.
