E2IP TECHNOLOGIES mandated by CAE to help deliver critical ventilator initiative

Montreal, Canada, July 9, 2020

e2ip technologies is proud to be one of CAE’s suppliers in the manufacturing of the CAE Air1™ ventilator destined to be used in the fight against COVID-19 throughout Canada.

e2ip will be building the mechanical parts of the ventilator from one of its ISO 13485 certified facilities in Montreal which relies on a specialized workforce of 200 employees supporting primary care electronic device design and manufacturing for global medical industry leaders.

“e2ip is a trusted partner in the design and manufacturing of human machine interface solutions for insulin pumps, hospital beds, infusion pumps, and many other primary care medical devices. We are proud to now be working with CAE on the Air1™ ventilator, a critical initiative for communities across Canada,” said Steve Birrell, Chief Commercial Officer for e2ip technologies.

“e2ip was quick to respond to global call for action to address COVID-19 challenges,” said Eric Saint-Jacques, CEO of e2ip technologies. e2ip plants in Montreal, Minnesota and Casablanca, all required to support global medical industry demand, remained at full capacity. Manufacturing operations increased and production lines were reconfigured to produce face shields for communities and governments across North America. Several disruptive innovations were also developed both by the company’s industry leading R&D team, and in partnership with the National Research Council of Canada, which will add further depth to the company’s broad portfolio of printed electronics intellectual property.

“This project with CAE, and our overall response to the COVID-19 pandemic, speak to e2ip’s core pillars of Innovation, Partnership, Operational Excellence and Talent,” said M. Saint-Jacques. “We also look forward to further developing our footprint in the global Aerospace market, a market in which we are recognized as a technology and innovation leader, through the integration of our printed electronics technology IP.”

CAE is a global leader in training for the civil aviation, defence and security, and healthcare markets. CAE designed the CAE Air1™ ventilator as a humanitarian response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Government of Canada mandated CAE to manufacture and supply 10,000 ventilators to support Intensive Care Units patients treated for COVID-19. The CAE Air1™ ventilator was the first entirely new ventilator to be certified by Health Canada since the beginning of the pandemic.

E2IP Technologies Inc. announces IME2

Montreal, 2020/04/23

The Printed Electronics team at e2ip technologies is pleased to announce that we, together with our partners at the National Research Council of Canada have advanced In-Mold Electronics (IME) by developing a next-generation IME capability.

Introducing IMe2

IMe₂™ expands beyond the traditional IME process of printing, forming, and injection molding. IMe₂™ utilizes new ways to combine printed electronic and graphic materials with a variety of new methods and combinations for curing, forming, and molding.

Expanding the range of materials and process options contributes to our e2ip value proposition “from Ideation to Fabrication”. e2ip’s IMe₂™ designs can utilize strategic metallization such as our Molecular Ink (MINK). MINK offers significant advantages in conductivity, stretch, and formability. IMe₂™ designs can also utilize other advanced materials including Dielectrics, Graphic Inks, Adhesives as well as Polymer Thick Film (PTF) and Nano Inks.

Other e2ip technologies are available to address specific features in device design including our CapFlex™ and Lumifilm™ which offer superior touch and light performance as well as our HeatSeal® technology which offers significant ingress protection for environmentally sensitive parts.

Our first IMe₂™ concept device is code-named AVATAR which ties to the embodiment of an idea or person, as an example of a transformative metamorphosis. Ultimately this aligns with the paradigm shift that IME and IMe₂™ will bring to manufacturing and design.

IMe2 is Selected as “Finalist” for Aerospace Industries’ Crystal Cabin Awards 2020

We are extremely proud to have been selected as one of three finalists in the prestigious Crystal Cabin Awards 2020. The Crystal Cabin Awards are held annually during the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg Germany. Our entry in the category of “Material & Components” explains and demonstrates this paradigm shift and how it will impact the airline passenger’s experience from both a functional and brand perspective.

We are currently working closely with several partners in the Aerospace, Medical Device, and Industrial sectors on their next-generation products utilizing our IMe₂™.
